THE MOCKINGBIRDS SONG - Poem

How many songs does the mockingbird sing,
And how many masters can rule as his king.

Does he live in a cage or does he fly free,
Do his feathers ruffle because he sings in glee.

Or does his head hang down as he sings in shame,
As he responds to each master with a different name.

A bird of love or a bird of fear,
Does the thought of home draw him to tear.

Or has he been trained to no longer feel,
Without this though how can one heal.

For to deny ones truth is to deny ones song,
His song of freedom, the song that he belongs.
